Emancipation Proclomation
Emancipation Proclamation
The Emancipation had a big impact on the South. For one, many plantation owners lost their slaves which lead to a large decrease in crops. Since the South’s slaves were now free, they moved to the North. The anger from the South towards the North increased because the South believed that this was the North’s way of punishing the South.
The Emancipation Proclamation also had a big impact on the North. The Emancipation Proclamation freed the slaves in the rebellion states. This meant that the North was getting closer to freeing all slaves like they wanted. Lincoln aloud the ex-slaves to participate in the military.
The Emancipation Proclamation has still left a mark to this day. One of the biggest marks it left, was the death of our 13th president, Abraham Lincoln. That was an up rise for the South. The Emancipation Proclamation was the start of why slavery isn’t as big now as it was then.
African American soldiers joined the military thanks to the Emancipation Proclamation. The Emancipation Proclamation freed the slaves in the rebellion states and said that they would have to join the military to maintain a stable life. The North was pretty happy because a good amount of slaves were freed and would be working in the military.
The South’s reaction was the opposite of the North. The South were a bit scared. Their former slaves were now being provided with weapons and they couldn’t do anything about it. They African American’s were not educated and could go shoot their former owner if they were really that devoted and angry to. The South was also unhappy that they lost their slaves.
